Historique :	Le thème de la Trinité terrestre et céleste a été mis à l'honneur après le Concile de Trente, pendant la Contre-Réforme, en Espagne, en Flandre et en France. Cette composition semble inspirée de la gravure du tableau de Gérard Seghers, peint à Anvers en 1631. La Sainte Famille de Murillo, conservée à Stockholm, dont elle a été rapprochée, ayant eu, elle aussi, probablement la même source.

Précision_sur la representation :	L'Enfant Jésus, entourée de la Vierge et de saint Joseph se détachent sur un fond de paysage dans la partie inférieure du tableau. Au-dessus de lui apparaît la colombe du Saint-Esprit et Dieu le Père émergeant de nuées.
